  • Please cancel your appointment ASAP if you been in contact with someone with COVID19, have recently been in AUCKLAND or have any symptoms of being unwell EVEN if it is a minor sniffle.
  • If you are early for your appointment please wait in your car until we text or phone you.
  • Please come alone unless you need a essential support person.
  • Please wear a mask if you have one, we will be using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Sanitiser is available, please practice hand hygiene before and after your appointment.
  • If you use a COVID tracing app please checkin using our QR posters.

For everyone's safety, we cannot offer face-to-face consultations during Level .
You can call, text or email Karen for advice, and she can videoconference if you have a computer or smartphone.
Currently our suppliers are able to send essential braces and equipment to you.

De Quervain's, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Trigger Finger, Mallet Finger and Boutonniere deformity
Crush and soft-tissue injuries to fingers and hands
Burn and scar management for fingers and hands
Shoulder injuries: Rotator cuff and Frozen shoulder
Tennis elbow and Golfers elbow

Sorry, we do NOT treat lower limb injuries - NO backs, necks, hips, knees, ankles or feet

What we do

Make custom-made splints for fingers, wrists and arms to help you recover your mobility, or keep you immobile while you heal.
Create an exercise programme for you to regain your strength and mobility
Help you reduce pain, or recover sensation after nerve injuries
Help you take care of wounds and scars

About Karen Wright

I've been a physiotherapist for over 10 years - including 6 years at Hutt Hospital and a GP practice in Pomare.

I believe in helping you overcome barriers and manage your health in a way that works for you.

Haumanu Physiotherapy brings affordable, convenient, client-centred Hand Therapy and upper limb Physiotherapy to Lower Hutt.


Hand Therapy

I am a registered Hand Therapist with specialist training in the treatment of the fingers, hand, wrist and forearm, including creating custom made splints to protect or support your hands.

I can help you get better function and reduce pain, if you have had a recent fracture, crush injury, hand surgery, arthritis, sporting or occupational overuse.
